Brief car fire leads to hydrant flushing in Mattapoisett

MATTAPOISETT — A brief car fire on North Street caused water hydrant flushing on Sept. 14.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Mattapoisett Fire Department responded to a car fire on north street, when a Toyota Prius briefly caught fire. The department extinguished the fire before it could spread throughout the vehicle.
As a result, the town flushed water hydrants in Mattapoisett Village, and residents were advised to expect colored water for a short period.
