MARION — Beavers are more than soft fur and flat tails! Join the Marion Natural History Museum on January 30th at 6 p.m. to learn more about these creatures.
The Marion Natural History Museum will host Wildlife Biologist Steven Wright of Massachusetts Fisheries and Wildlife.
American Indians called the beaver the “sacred center” of the land because this species creates such rich, watery habitat for other mammals, fish, turtles, frogs, birds and ducks.
Beavers reliably and economically maintain wetlands that sponge up floodwaters, alleviate droughts and floods, lessen erosion and act as the “earth’s kidneys” to purify water.
