MATTAPOISETT — Due to a repair of a pump at the water treatment plant, a “high-pressure incident occurred,” resulting in dirty water on Nov. 18 that the Mattapoisett Water Sewer Department is working to address. 

The department reported that fire hydrants had been “opened to clear the manganese particles.” 

The issue should be resolved within the day, according to a message the town sent to residents.
