‘Octopurr Fest’ to raise funds for animal shelter

ROCHESTER — The “It’s All About the Animals” animal shelter located at 103 Marion Road in Rochester will host their “Octopurr Fest” fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free family event will feature local crafts, jewelry, homemade gifts, treats, gift baskets and raffle items. Items include two great seats for the Patriots vs the Chiefs game at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 8, valued at $141 each, a contribution from Brahmin Leather valued at $300, Edaville Railroad passes for four valued at $150, Annie Tickets for opening night from the Festival Theatre (at the Zeiterion Theatre), valued at $175, A baby stroller valued at $300, watercolor paintings, lithographs, antique paintings, restaurant certificates, gift cards, salon packages, museum passes and more. 

Children are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes and trick or treat at the vendors’ tables.

There will be a Tom Cat Ball Drop fundraiser with tickets being sold in advance for $10. The winner of this event will receive a $500 prize. Tickets can be purchased at the shelter, during  normal adoption hours of Saturdays or Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., and may sell out before Oct. 6. 

It’s All About the Animals is a volunteer run cage free, no kill 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter. Donations provide food, supplies and medical care for the animals.
