MARION — Learn to identify and draw botany and landscapes at the Marion Natural History Museum on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Tricia Cassady, a wetland scientist and artist who leads The Art & Nature Studio, will teach the group botanical terms and identification techniques. The group will also learn how to draw a landscape using a viewfinder.
The Art & Nature Studio offers lessons, workshops and art commissions focusing on art that is inspired by both nature and science, according to its website. Cassady is a conservation agent for the town of Middleboro with decades of art experience.
Participants are asked to bring sketchbooks and any art materials they’d like to work with, including but not limited to pencils, pens, markers and watercolors. According to the museum, the group will be outside and attendees should dress appropriately, wear sun block, bug spray and bring something to sit on.
