Center School Principal to retire at end of school year
MATTAPOISETT — After four years as the Center School principal, Linda Ashley plans to retire at the conclusion of the school year.
The Old Rochester Regional School District will soon begin searching for her replacement.
Ashley became principal at the Center School on July 1, 2022, with 35 years of education experience.
Before arriving at the Center School, Ashley served as a principal in Franklin, Milford and Norton Public Schools.
She led an award-winning school, guided schools recognized for high achievement and growth, expanded professional development systems and strengthened curriculums.
Old Rochester Superintendent Michael Nelson wrote that Ashley was an asset to the community.
“Ashley has supported our staff with thoughtful guidance, strengthened communication with families, and fostered a school environment where young learners feel cared for, encouraged, and excited to grow,” Nelson wrote.
Ashley said she appreciates the Center School community and the honor of serving the students there.
“Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my professional journey,” Ashley wrote.
