Coffee hour, trivia, ‘banned book club’ at Taber Library

MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library has a number of events throughout March including a coffee hour, book club and trivia night. 

First, on Thursday, March 2 at 9:30 a.m., join the Friends of the Elizabeth Taber Library for a coffee hour.  Learn more about the organization and about different ways to support the library. 

Then, on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. the library will host a banned book club.

Participants will learn about the history of attempts at banning books in American and international libraries. They will discuss books that have made the American Library Association’s Banned Book List.

In March, the club will discuss Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. Pick up copies at the library throughout the month. 

The Elizabeth Taber Library will host the second annual “Lizzy T” trivia night fundraiser on Friday, March 24 at 7 p.m.

Gather a team of 5 to 6 people and compete in a battle of wits to benefit the library. Topics include local history, sports, pop culture and more.

The event will be held at the Marion Music hall, refreshments including beer and wine will be available. There is $200 team entry fee.
