Find fungi with a fun guy

MARION — Join the Marion Museum for a rescheduled fall hike at Shoolman Preserve to find mushrooms. 

Adam Korejwa will lead the walk on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. He will explain how to identify mushrooms through basic anatomy and diagnostic features, and touch on edibility as well. Some possible fungi could include chicken of the woods, old man of the woods, golden oysters and others. 

Korejwa studied math at UMass Dartmouth, where he focused on complex systems and networks. He then studied ecological engineering at Oregon State University, focusing on coupled human and natural systems under climate change. He is a biophile, amateur naturalist, enthusiastic teacher, and proud father.
