On Wednesday Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Center School Cafeteria the Town of Mattapoisett and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee will seek resident input on what the Mattapoisett should consider in its Complete Streets Priority Plan.

“Complete Streets is a Federal and State funded program that assists Communities to implement improvements to the street networks, especially for ‘active transportation.’ The prioritized plan could lead to state grants,” said Bonnie Sousa, Co-chair of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee.

This type of plan needs input from residents to improve accessibility in neighborhoods for walking, crossing the street safely, and to improve connections between neighborhoods and areas of interest such as the Council on Aging, library, business districts, parks, scenic trails and other areas that residents want to get to daily.

Mattapoisett residents that have experienced impediments in accessing these and other areas, should come and explain where so the issues are submitted for consideration in the Mattapoisett Complete Streets Plan.

In the case of inclement weather, the informational session will take place the next day, Feb. 14 at the same time and location as a backup date.
