If there’s a wait for coffee, appreciate art

MARION  — The 10th annual Old Rochester Art Show is now on display at Uncle Jon’s Coffees. The display features artwork from Old Rochester Regional High School students, as well as participants from the 9th District Congressional Art Show.

In an artist statement, Sofia Sudofsky wrote that she has been interested in art her whole life, but did not take a specialized art class until attending ORR. She submitted various paintings to the exhibit, and wrote that she doesn’t typically stick to any specific style.

“Each piece shows a different aspect of my personality,” she wrote.

Grayson Lord chose to design artwork on a skateboard rather than a traditional canvas or paper surface. Lord wrote that “I like the idea that people will be able to take my art on the go, and will hopefully be able to make memories with the boards I design.”

The exhibit is free and open to the public. It will be on display until June 10.
