Kenneth Osborn, 67

MATTAPOISETT - Kenneth B. Osborn, 67, resident of Mattapoisett, passed away after a long illness on Sept. 12. Born in Needham, MA, in 1951, he was raised in Marion, MA. He was the son of Stafford P. Osborn and Sally T. Osborn. He was a graduate of Tabor Academy and The University of Vermont.

He was an avid tennis player and teaching professional. He spent many years in the retail management business in the area as well as in Western Massachusetts with Whiting Oil.

He was known for his love of literature and film and was a dedicated gamesman especially solving and composing crossword puzzles. He had a searing wit using his knowledge of politics, literature, and current events to entangle people in lively discussions. He loved to travel to Jamaica where he spent many of his years enjoying the local culture.

Kenneth was predeceased by his sister, Susan Capezzone, and his parents Stafford and Sally Osborn of Marion Ma. He is survived by his brothers and their spouses,  Christopher Osborn and Maggie McCall, Jeffrey and Ellen Osborn and Timothy Osborn. He is also survived by his niece, nephews and their spouses, Hayden and Jeremy Holt, Leif and Amy Ragnaldsen and Jarrett and Melissa Osborn, his cousins and their spouses Wendi Hayes and Christopher Throop and Robert and Karen Hayes.

A private remembrance will be held in the fall.
