Mattapoisett has shifted to a “green” covid risk designation, as Marion and Rochester remain “gray,” according to March 25 state data. 

In the state’s color-coded covid risk designation system, less than or equal to 10 active covid cases designates a community as gray, between 10 an 15 cases puts a community in green, less than or equal to 25 cases marks a town as yellow, and communities with more than 25 cases are designated as red.

New cases in Mattapoisett rose from eight last week to 13 in March 25 data, bringing the town over the threshold for a “green” designation. All three towns were “gray” in March 11 and 18 data. 

In Rochester, new cases rose from three last week to eight this week. 

Marion saw a decrease in new cases this week, dropping to three from six in March 18 data. 

In the Old Rochester Regional School District, cases have remained in the single digits. 

Old Hammondtown, Sippican School, Rochester Memorial, ORRHS, and the Junior High each have one ongoing positive case, as of March 25. Center school has no positive cases. 

An additional 18 individuals related to the school district are in quarantine resulting from contact tracing.
