Old Rochester Youth Lacrosse League to hold 'Lax Fest' May 12
The Old Rochester Youth Lacrosse League is sponsoring the second annual “Lax Fest” at ORR High School on Saturday, May 12, from noon to 4:30 p.m.
The 2012 fest will kick off at noon with the ORR girls players running a clinic for the youngest learn-to-play groups beginning at 12:15 p.m.
There will be a food concession stand, ORR lacrosse merchandise sales, shot clock competitions, a moonbounce, lacrosse head stringing services, and a silent auction of brand new lax equipment. Representatives from Warrior and Brine will be on hand to showcase their equipment.
Throughout the afternoon youth games will take place, with the culmination of the day being the boys varsity game against Pope John Paul II from the Cape at 3p.m. Michael Rock of Fun 107 will be on hand to announce the varsity game and prizewinners.
Girls JV and varsity members will also run ongoing games and relays before they need to leave for an away game against Mashpee High School. Next year’s event will feature a girls home game.
The event is free. For more information, call Rachel Deery, 508-758-3925. Rain date is May 19.
