Selectmen postpone Kinsale hearing

Apr 25, 2012

The Tuesday, March 24 Selectmen meeting was standing room only as over 80 residents gathered in the meeting room and down the corridors of Town Hall to attend a hearing for the owners of the new Inn at Shipyard.

Owners Nils Johnson and Andrea Perry  were scheduled for a hearing to obtain an entertainment license for the Inn, which will replace Kinsale Inn on Water Street.

The large turnout, however, exceeded the legal capacity of the meeting room.

Standing in the hallway with around 30 other people, resident Ray Andrews addressed the Selectmen. “Gentleman, there are a lot of people out here who want to come in and hear and can’t get in. You can’t make the building any bigger, but you can also reschedule this.”

The Selectmen voted to reschedule the hearing for Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Hammondtown School cafeteria.
