Tabor to fundraise for Special Olympics with ‘polar plunge’

MARION — Tabor Academy will host a “polar plunge” at Silvershell Beach in Marion on Dec. 15 at 11:15 a.m. to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Registration at the beach will begin at 10 a.m., and participants will plunge into Sippican Harbor promptly at 11:15 a.m. There will be a warming tent with snacks for participants, and first responders will be at the beach for safety.

Tabor students are attempting to raise $4,000 for Special Olympics in to help support the athletes they have  played with over the last four years of their involvement with Special Olympics MA, such as their morning of School Day Games, and Sunday morning Young Athletes Program and Basketball Tournament.
