Three singer-songwriters to perform at Mattapoisett Museum

MATTAPOISETT - The Mattapoisett Museum located at 5 Church St., will present a special concert Thursday, July 16, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. featuring singer-songwriter Moe Dixon, joined by local favorites Seth Asser and Gary Brown for an evening of song and storytelling.

Dixon is a familiar presence on the festival and concert circuit, known for original songs, fingerstyle and ragtime guitar, and ukulele playing. Dixon and Asser met more than 50 years ago in Vermont, where they formed the folk-rock group Willow, which performed throughout New England. The concert is a celebration of their longtime friendship and musical collaborations.

Dixon has earned national recognition through his work with the children's music group Rosen, Shontz and Dixon. He has written themes for Bob Hope specials and Warren Miller ski films, and has performed with the Wheeling Symphony and the West Suburban Symphony of Chicago. He has shared the stage with Phil Ochs, Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Tom Rush, Doc Watson, Maria Muldaur, Odetta, John Denver, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Three Dog Night, Buddy Guy, Sonny Landreth and others.

The concert will be held at the Mattapoisett Museum Carriage House. Admission information is available at the museum.
