Marion Town Party set for Aug. 23
The annual Town Party will be held Saturday, Aug. 23. The rain date is Aug. 24.
Festivities begin at 4 p.m. in front of the Marion Town House on Spring Street. This year's event will feature a climbing wall, bounce house, dunk tank, music, bake sale, bonfire and more. Refreshments will be available. Admission is free.
Members of Marion's Recreation Department, Firefighters Association and Police Brotherhood will sponsor the event.
Proceeds go to the Recreation Department and the Firefighters Association. The department plans to use the money to build a playground at Washburn Park.
The association seeks to purchase new thermal imagining equipment for the Fire Department.
Party organizers are asking for community donations to help underwrite the event. Food, raffle prizes, services, bake sale items, cash or any other donation would be appreciated. Contributions are tax deductible.
