Buoys & Gulls Gala to support The Boys & Girls Club of Wareham

Jun 8, 2018

The “Buoys & Gulls Gala” to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Wareham will be held June 15 at the Kittansett Club in Marion. The folks at this beautiful seaside venue have planned a delicious buffet dinner, Frank McNamee of Marion Antiques will run a live auction with some amazing experiences up for grabs, our Gala Committee has assembled a fantastic array of silent auction items, and it will all be with a backdrop of 70s pop standards played by KG Express.

This is the major fundraiser for our Boys & Girls Club, which  serves some of the kids aged 7 through 13 who need our help the most. Nearly three quarters of club members come from low- and moderate-income families, and in the majority of cases, the affordable care the Club provides means a single caregiver (parent or other relative) can work outside the home. At the Club, children get help with homework and participate in enrichment programs such as gardening and robotics. During the summer, they get outside a lot, with field trips to Onset Beach, nature walks led by Mass Audubon, the Buzzards Bay Coalition’s Learn to Sail program, an occasional Pawtucket Red Sox game, and more. The Club serves as many as 200 kids over the course of a year.

Tickets to the Gala are $100 and you can buy yours online by clicking here. Or call Kenny Fontes, the Club director, at 508-322-8722 and he will arrange to hold tickets at the door for you.

If you’re unable to join us Friday, you can also make a donation at that online link. About 68 percent of the Club’s $244,000 budget comes from grants and donations from people like you.
