Gatemen Players Spend Morning with Kids of Boys and Girls Club
Wareham Gatemen players spent time at the Boys and Girls Club of Wareham this morning, July 13, as part of the Gatemen community service effort.
Players spent the morning outside with kids of varying age groups. The morning started with the younger girls and wrapped up with all the boys.
To start the morning, the players participated in a variety of games with the younger girls group.
They played a game of kickball and then moved onto a short game of red light, green light. After that, the group played a game of sharks and minnows and a short game of duck, duck, goose before it was time for the girls to go inside to watch a movie.
Half the players spent time outside with the girls, while the other half were inside with the boys either playing basketball, ping pong, or making arts and crafts.
Once it the girls returned inside, the boys made their way outside with the other half of the players. The group started a kickball game once everyone had decided on teams.
The group finished the morning with a short game of wiffle ball before the boys went back inside.
The Gatemen players in attendance for this morning’s community service were Ryan Stoudemire, Derek West, Tyler Keysor, Cody Carroll, Tyler Ahearn, and Jack Ralston.
For Gatemen baseball action, the Cotuit Kettleers travel to Spillane field for a division matchup with the Wareham Gatemen tonight, July 13, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30pm.
