Bulldogs pull through on senior night
Tuesday night was a special one for the senior players on the Old Rochester Regional boys basketball team. Not only did the team beat Seekonk 65-55, but also Ryan Simcoe took the court for the first time this year after a concussion – and sunk a 3-point shot on his first possession.
It was the last home game of the regular season for seniors, who are co-captains Jeremy Bare, and Michael Pruchnik, along with Paul Graves, Robby Magee, Jack Smith, Haydon Bergeron and Simcoe.
At the game, the crowd cheered for the seniors and their parents.
After the game got going ORR found themselves down early and struggling to recover. Seekonk went into halftime up 2 points.
The third quarter was similar to the second quarter and saw each team trading baskets. Midway through the fourth quarter the Bulldogs pulled ahead with some clutch foul shooting.
The game marks the team’s fifteenth win. Graves scored 16 points and Bare racked up 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks.
The Bulldogs, still in the hunt for the South Coast Conference title, play away at Bourne and Case to end the season on Friday and Sunday.
