Full Moon Owl Prowl at the Lloyd Center– March 9

Mar 3, 2020

Missed the Lloyd Center for the Environment’s Winter Owl Prowl? Then join Lloyd Center Research Associate Jamie Bogart on the Full Moon Owl Prowl at the Lloyd Center on Monday, March 9th when temperatures trend a bit warmer and the hour is friendlier. Better yet, walk under the light of the full moon when creatures have an attitude and the moonlight reflection off the water can be breathtaking. For this outing, Jamie will focus on the Lloyd Center property where each common owl species may be seen.

Screech, great horned, and barred owls are all resident species possibly encountered in the woods of the Lloyd Center.

Participants should bring (if available) binoculars, camera, and flashlight, and wear footwear for light walking on forest trails, and possibly snow. (Note: stormy weather or excessively windy conditions will cause postponement).

Lead by Jamie Bogart, the Full Moon Owl Prowl at the Lloyd Center will take place on Monday, March 9th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm (maximum timeframe). Inclement weather date is Tuesday, March 10th. Participants will meet in the lower parking lot of the Lloyd Center for the Environment’s Hardscrabble Nature Preserve located at 430 Potomska Road in Dartmouth. This event is $10 for Lloyd Center members, and $13 for non-members. Children under 12 are half-price. Space is limited to 20 participants. This event is suitable for ages 10 and older.

Pre-registration for the Full Moon Owl Prowl at the Lloyd Center is required by Monday, March 9th, 12pm.
