NBSO Participates in VAHA! New Bedford

In conjunction with AHA!/VAHA! New Bedford, the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra will premiere an interview with NBSO Concertmaster Jesse Holstein and composer Jessie Montgomery at 8pm on March 11. Ms. Montgomery’s piece Banner will be performed by the NBSO on March 20, 2021. In partnership with the New Bedford Historical Society, “Celebrating Black Culture” will be recorded on the stage at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center and will include relevant videos such as a tour of the Nathan and Polly Johnson House with NBHS President Lee Blake, an interview with Carl Cruz on Sgt. William Carney of the 54th Regiment - the first black soldier to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor, and a discussion with guest pianist Joseph Joubert. Concert tickets are just $20 per household with access for 30 days.
