Old Rochester Boys Soccer Team Draws Level with Fairhaven
The Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs boys soccer team visited Fairhaven on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs coming off their playoff clinching win over Wareham, looked poise to continue their undefeated streak. The Blue Devils who seemed to be out of playoff contention, still had their pride to fight for in the battle for Route 6. The game was very back and fourth although the Bulldogs controlled the midfield a lot better and seemed to be getting more scoring chances. The wet and muddy field made playing much tougher on the teams. Players were slipping all over the field but that didn't take away from the intensity of the game.
The two teams went into half time tied 0-0 with a breakthrough looming for the Bulldogs. Unfortunately they were not able to breakthrough in the second half despite some very good chances. The game ended as it started 0-0. It was a well played game by both sides but one that the Bulldogs really deserved. Both coaches were pleased with their teams play and both teams walked away with a point.
The Bulldogs got good play from sophomore left mid Shane DeSousa, senior forward Alden Truesdale, senior midfielder Robby Magee, and freshman midfielder Mason DaSilva. Bulldog goalie Melvin Vincent added to his clean sheet tally making a couple amazing saves. The Bulldogs have 4 games left and look to improve their record to get a higher seed in the state tournament.
