Southcoast Health providing free skin cancer screenings in Fall River on October 1
FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southcoast Health today announced that it is offering free skin cancer screenings on Saturday, October 1, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care located at 506 Prospect Street in Fall River, adjacent to the rear of Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Southcoast Health dermatologist Eric Domingues, MD, and Jennifer Levesque, PA, will conduct the screenings.
The American Cancer Society recommends a cancer-related checkup, including a skin exam, when you have your regular health exams. Too much exposure to UV rays can also cause sunburn, eye damage, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation marks such as freckles and age spots. Sunscreen should be worn whenever skin is exposed to direct sunlight to protect against the sun’s aging effect.
Pre-registration for the screening is required as space is limited. To register, please call 877-822-2732. For more information on skin cancer services at Southcoast Health, visit www.southcoast.org/services/cancer-care/skin-cancer/.
