The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the South Coast that will be in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday night.

Snow accumulation is expected to be at least 12 inches and up to 18 inches, with snow falling at two to three inches per hour at times. Winds are predicted to be 15 to 25 mph with up to 50 mph gusts.

Cancellations:

All tri-town public schools are closed Thursday.

Thursday trash pickup in Mattapoisett will be delayed to Friday.

All tri-town departments will be closed, including the libraries.
