Adventures in space for kids

First through fifth graders are encouraged to join the five-day Space Odyssey hosted by the Mattapoisett Recreation Department.
At the program help kids will:
- Learn about flying, both in and out of Earth’s atmosphere;
- Find out what it is to live and work in space. Kids will design their own space station, moon base or Mars Base;
- See how Rockets Work from the ground up by building and launching their own model rockets.
The Space Odyssey runs July 9 to 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Center School in Mattapoisett. Tuition is $100. Students should bring their own snacks, lunches and drinks.
