In January, Old Rochester Regional High School junior Alyssa Perry was chosen to be the Elks Student of the Month by Wareham Lodge No. 1548.

Criteria for selection includes a student's scholarship, citizenship, performing arts, fine arts, hobbies, athletics, church, school and community service, industry and farming.

According to ORR staff, Perry not only works hard in class, but is a thinker, carefully weighing whatever she contributes. She helps fellow classmates and contributes to classroom discussions. Perry is involved in the ORR Drama Club as well.
