Anti-racism group holds online book club this week

Aug 25, 2020

The Tri-Town and Beyond Community Read Group will host a virtual anti-racist event on Aug. 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The community read for “How to be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi and “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You” by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi started at the beginning of the month. The goal of the community read is to collaboratively learn about the ways that racism plays out in society and the Tri-Town.

Aug. 27 marks the halfway point in the read, and organizers will hold a check in for readers — and those who are just curious to learn more — to talk together and ask questions on Zoom. Old Rochester Regional Community Television will simulcast the event.

Participants should RSVP via Eventbrite to get the link for the online conversation.
