Art blooms at Mattapoisett Library
Jun 21, 2013
Inspired by the Art in Bloom exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Mattapoisett Women's Club Garden Group decided to put its own flowers to work at the Mattapoisett Library.
The ladies created complimentary arrangements to highlight the artwork of high school juniors and seniors already on display in the library's two front rooms.
"We're winging it. This is our first time doing anything like this," said member Ellen Flynn.
"It really just beats housework," joked Mary O'Keefe.
The majority of flowers came from the members' yards and other areas around town, and will be up as long as they last, said Flynn.
The art exhibit will be on display until the end of the month.
