MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett GOP will hold a community meeting on Thursday, July 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

During the meeting, there will be a discussion on creating a petition to oppose Article 34, which passed during Town Meeting in May to increase the Select Board from three to five members.

Topics of discussion will include the petition’s purpose, signature collection to hold a special town meeting, outreach plans and volunteer opportunities, as well as any other discussion items that come to mind.

There will light snacks and a cash bar at the event, which will be held at the Niemad Facility at 57 Fairhaven Road.
