The Buzzards Bay Coalition's Bay Adventures series continues this summer throughout the South Coast and with two August events in Mattapoisett.

Bay Adventures are free opportunities to explore the Buzzards Bay watershed, but registration is requested.

Running series

On the first Friday morning of each month through November, the Watershed Trail Running Series explores different areas of the watershed on pre-scouted trails. The series is open to runners of all abilities.

On Friday, Aug. 7 from 7 to 8 a.m., the series comes to The Bogs in Mattapoisett, a Buzzards Bay Coalition property located on Acushnet Road.

Learn to quahog

The Coalition will teach participants how to harvest their own quahogs in Mattapoisett. The session will cover what is needed, technique and places to go. This event will be fun and educational for the whole family.

It takes place Saturday, Aug. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Shining Tides Beach in Mattapoisett.
