MATTAPOISETT — Shellfishing for bay scallops is now open in certain parts of the waters in Mattapoisett and will expand to more areas starting Nov. 1

On Oct. 15, the outer Mattapoisett Harbor opened for commercial and recreational fishing, and the inner harbor and Brandt Cove Island opened for recreational fishing only.

Starting Nov. 1, all areas mentioned above will be open for both recreational and commercial licenses.
