'Bee Gees Gold' coming to Mattapoisett
The Auxiliary of Charlton Memorial Hospital, the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and the Tobey Hospital Guild are hosting a charity event on Friday, August 18, at Shining Tides, 38 Reservation Rd, in Mattapoisett. The event will be held under a tent and feature Bee Gees Gold, a Las Vegas tribute band of the Bee Gees.
The group features the vocal stylings of John Acosta (Barry), Daryl Borges (Robin) and Jeff Celentano (Maurice) as the brothers Gibb. Backed by a live band, the tribute recreates the look and sound of the Bee Gees from the 60’s to the late 70’s, with the unique falsettos that made them legends. They will be performing such early hits as "Massachusetts" and "I Started a Joke", to the later Disco classics, such as "Stayin’ Alive" and "You Should Be Dancing."
Russell Morin’s Fine Catering will provide the food for the event. Wines will be served with the four course meal.
Proceeds from this event will help fund several building and expansion projects at local hospitals. These projects include the addition of the Harold & Virginia Lash Heart and Vascular Center at Charlton Memorial Hospital, renovations and expansion of the Stoico/FIRSTFED Maternity Center at St. Luke’s Hospital, and the expansion of the Tobey Hospital Emergency Department.
