MARION — 12 teams from across the country will race a fleet of J80 sailboats in the outer Sippican Harbor in the U.S Adult Sailing Championship Regatta hosted by Marion’s Beverly Yacht club from Sep. 5 to 8.

Chip Johns will represent the Beverly Yacht Club and the Southeastern Massachusetts Sailing Association during the competition. Skippers of other teams hail from Minnesota, Florida, Texas, California, New Hampshire, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, and Michigan.

This year’s group of sailors include former Mallory Trophy champions, national sailing champions, and former All-American collegiate sailors.

Multiple short races will be sailed, and a minimum of three races will constitute a series between racing teams.
