Bible stories come to life at Vacation Bible School

MARION – The First Congregational Church of Marion sponsored their Vacation Bible School Aug. 15 through 19 at the Marion Community Center.
A group of elementary students had no time to be bored with the full slate of events set at the camp. They jumped right in to a week long full of games, arts and crafts and interactive biblical story time.
“They had so much fun that several of the students requested another week,” said organizer Raquel G. Macfarlane.
Every attendee also received a beta fish, which they got to take home at the end of the week. This activity was designed to reinforce day five of the creation story, when all the fish of the sea were created.
The Vacation Bible School team at the First Congregational Church will bring VBS back again next year in August.
