Feb 12, 2022

MARION — Several community programs are scheduled Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Marion Natural History Museum, 8 Spring St.

Yarmouth resident Joe Dwelly, known as “Butterfly Man,’’ will be the guest speaker March 9. He will discuss local species of butterflies, where they can be found and how they can be attracted to backyards. He will also discuss ideal plant and butterfly pairings.

Justin Barrett of the Nasketucket Bird Club will be discussing unique bird species of Marion March 30. He will explore unique and rare birds that call Marion home or use it as a stopover site during migration.

“To Bee or Not to Bee’’ will be the subject of the April 6 program about creating a pollinator garden for bees. The program will explore the biology of bees, what plants to grow to best suit their needs, how to provide suitable homes for bees and what actions people might be taking, even if inadvertently, that negatively impact their populations.

These programs are free but registration is required by visiting www.marionmuseum.org and sending an email. Masks are required to enter the museum.
