Jan 15, 2022

MARION _ Birds and butterflies will be the topics of two upcoming programs at Marion Natural History Museum,  8 Spring St.

The year’s first after-school program will be The Great Backyard Bird Count, to be presented 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Justin Barrett will discuss how to participate in the bird count. Participants will learn how to identify birds, record findings online and become a citizen scientist in their own backyards or nearby parks.

The year’s first adult/community program is the “butterfly guy” 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9. Joe Dwelly of Yarmouth will share what he knows about local butterfly species, where they can be found and how community members can attract them to their backyards.

Preregistration is required and spaces are limited due to Covid.  Masks will be required for all programs.
