Boating Skills and Seamanship class starts Feb. 27

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will hold “Boating Skills and Seamanship” classes starting Thursday, Feb. 27. The course is designed for new boaters seeking skills and those who want to advance to a higher level.

The course covers: Boating terminology, safety equipment, boat handling, trailering,
aids to navigation, navigation rules, lines, knots and radio communications.

There is a $40 materials fee to be paid the first night of class. Families may share materials and the cost of the fee.

Classes will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3, 10.
There will be a review and final exam. A certificate is awarded upon completion. Classes will be held at 13 Atlantis Drive in Marion. For more information, call 508-789-3680 or email wwash61164@aol.com.
