Rochester and Mattapoisett are two of the best places to live in Massachusetts, according to the Boston Globe.

Both Tri-Town communities have made the “South of Boston” list.

Rochester was named the top spot under $600,000, with the median price of a single-family home calculated at $576,500 with a 64.7% increase since 2016.

“It’s just a simpler, quieter lifestyle,” resident Dan Costa told the Globe.

“It’s actually really pretty with the farmland that we have, and some of the ponds around here make you feel like you’re up in the lakes in New Hampshire.”

Mattapoisett was named the top spot in the $600,000-$800,000 range. The average price of a median single-family home was listed as $620,000 with an increase of 65.3% since 2016.

Features such as the harbor, Shipyard Park, the public beach, and Mattapoisett’s historic homes were mentioned.
