Boy Scouts put on a feast

Nov 10, 2019

ROCHESTER — Boy Scout Troop 31 honored Rochester firefighters, police, EMTs and Grange Hall Association members with their special annual Turkey Dinner Feast on Nov. 9.

Young scouts served over 108 attendees at the Rochester Grange Hall. Older scouts helped set up and prepare the meal. While the turkeys roasted in specially seasoned cans on an open fire at their camp, new scouts and the newly formed girls Troop 31G learned outdoor rank advancement skills.

The Troop’s annual Turkey dinner was followed by a fire ceremony that included skits by the scouts, a court of honor and a flag retirement ceremony.

The Troop is in its busiest season of community service and is still collecting food donations for Shephards Pantry with a drop box at Plumb Memorial Library.
