A 23-year-old resident died early Tuesday morning after losing control of his car and crashing into trees on Brandt Island Road.

Police say Carl Pacheco, 133 Brandt Island Road, crashed his 2008 Nissan in the area of 119 Brandt Island Road around 1:41 a.m. on Tuesday.
Pacheco was the only person in the vehicle.

Police say Pacheco was transported by the Mattapoisett Police EMS to St. Luke’s Hospital where he later died due to the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Mattapoisett Police Sergeant Robert Dumas is investigating the accident with the assistance of Trooper Brent Pereira of the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
