Brave a haunted library during Taber Library’s Halloweekend festivities
MARION — The Halloween festivities at Elizabeth Taber Library spread through an entire weekend this October.
The “Great Pumpkin Contest” is open throughout the month. Check out a pumpkin with a library card, decorate it and return it by Wednesday, Oct. 23 to be entered into the contest. Then, favorites will be voted on during the library’s Halloweekend celebration activities.
Visit between Thursday, Oct. 24 to Saturday, Oct. 26 to brave the “haunted stacks” of Taber’s “first ever mini haunted library,” an announcement said.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, for ages 9 and up, make Halloween boba after school from 3 to 4 p.m., then join costume karaoke starting at 6 p.m. for food and music for all ages.
On Friday, Oct. 25 from 3 to 4 p.m. children’s librarian Macy Davis will lead a pumpkin paper circuits activity fro ages 5 through 9 in which attendees can make Halloween decorations that light up.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, a “Boo Bash Games” event will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. It will feature a Halloween scavenger hunt, mummy races, spooky sensory bags, and more. At 1 p.m., a craft project for ages 12 and up on fall book centerpieces will be held.
