Buzzards Bay Musicfest to celebrate 19 years
The Buzzards Bay Musicfest returns for its 19th year with concerts July 8 to 12 at the Fireman Performing Arts Center at Tabor Academy. Nationally and internationally prominent musicians will perform orchestral and chamber music, with selections from Mozart, Brahms, Bach and others.
Orchestral performances will be held Wednesday, July 8 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m.
Chamber music performances will be held Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 10 at 8 p.m.
A Jazz performance by the Sean Jones Quartet takes place Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m.
An open rehearsal for children (with accompanying adult) will be held on Wednesday, July 8 at 2:30 p.m. The rehearsal is an occasion for young or aspiring musicians to watch and listen as artists perform orchestral pieces in preparation for the concert.
After the rehearsal, children will have the chance to speak with Maestro Andres Cardenes, Artistic Director Charles Stegeman and the musicians.
