Cape Cod Five funds Big Yellow School Bus program

Mar 17, 2016

The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank is donating $8,000, through its foundation, to the Massachusetts Cultural Council to fund the cost of transportation to nonprofit cultural institutions, such as art and science museums, for students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade in Southeastern Massachusetts, the Cape and Islands.

The donation from Cape Cod Five’s Foundation will entirely support the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Big Yellow School Bus program, part of its Creative Youth Initiative, which allows schools to apply for small grants of $200 each to cover transportation costs for trips to cultural institutions. Transportation for 40 educational field trips will be funded via Cape Cod Five’s sponsorship.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council is a state agency that promotes excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities.
