Changes to Mattapoisett development require second look

Feb 7, 2017

The Mattapoisett Planning Board decided on Monday night that changes to the plans for a new Route 6 development will require a review.

Developer Todd Rodrigues of Yard Boss was not able to attend the meeting, but he wrote the board a request to increase one of two buildings in Windswept Village, from 7,259 square feet to 8,500. The reason, according to Rodrigues, is that issues with some of the utilities necessitated a change.

According to Planning Board secretary Mary Crain, the additional square footage would still keep the building within mandated setbacks. Crain also said Rodrigues said Chair Tom Tucker told him it could be considered “as built” and wouldn’t need an additional hearing. Tucker is away, however, so Crain could not verify the statement.

Ultimately, the board decided the change was significant enough to require a meeting with Rodrigues.
