The Mattapoisett Firefighters Association will hold its second annual Chowder Competition at the Knights of Columbus, 57 Fairhaven Road (Route 6), on Sept. 18.

From noon to 4 p.m. there will be chowder to sample from public safety teams  and local businesses as they compete for the distinction of best chowder. Awards will be announced at 3 p.m.

There will also be antique fire apparatus on display, activities for kids, a cash bar, raffles and entertainment.

Tickets are $10 for ages 12 and older. Kids under 12 get in free. Purchase tickets at the Mattapoisett Fire Department, from an association member or at the door.
