Chris Reddy hosts pollution talk at Marion Natural History Museum

MARION – Last Wednesday, the Marion Natural History Museum hosted Chris Reddy, senior scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, who specializes in marine pollution and petroleum geochemistry.

Chris became interested in plastics in 2008 when he worked with Dr. Law at Sea Education Association to study the distribution and chemical composition of plastic in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Among many other topics Chris discussed how certain plastics breakdown in the ocean environment and the plastic “island” in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. T
