MARION — St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church will host an Advent Quiet Day on Saturday, Dec. 7.   The theme for the meditative day is "Walking to Bethlehem.”

The event will begin with morning prayer in the chapel at 9:30 a.m. and then continue with a choice of silent meditative options for the rest of the morning: centering meditation and prayer, walking the labyrinth, journal writing, resting in the solitude of the chapel or garden, or bringing a quiet activity.

At noon, the church will hold a service. The day will conclude  with a simple lunch at about 1 p.m. to break the silence.

Participants may stay the whole time or come and go if they would like. There is no charge, but a donation to offset the cost of lunch would be appreciated. Call Janet Bullock in the parish office to register by Wednesday, Dec. 4. Janet can be reached at 508-748-1507.
