MARION — St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church and the First Congregational Church of Marion will offer a special time of worship for those grieving or facing difficult times this holiday season.

The service will be held at Saint Gabriel’s on Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. Sometimes called “Blue Christmas” or “Longest Night,” it is often held close to Christmas when the winter solstice makes the days shorter and darker than any other time in the year.

People who may not be having a very merry Christmas and friends who support them are invited to come and sit with one another in a liturgy that speaks of the love of God for those struggling during this season.
