MARION — The Art Center’s announces an update to its Continuing and Advanced Watercolor Painting session beginning on Jan. 10, which will feature eight 3-hour classes (instead of 2 hours) on Fridays in the studio. The class runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This course is for those who would like to explore watercolor painting beyond a basic understanding of color and brush strokes. The cost for 8-week session is $280 for art center members, and $320 for non-members.

Registration is now open for a newly added five week Beginning Drawing course. Instructor Catherine Carter will lead the class on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., from Feb. 4 to March 3. In this course, students will learn the basics of realistic drawing using pencil and paper, while developing observational and mark-making skills through traditional exercises. The cost for the course is $135 for art center members, $155 for non-members.
